Glenair MIL-DTL-26500 Type Hermetic connectors provide sealed feed-through capability for legacy aerospace systems and remain in service where backward compatibility with existing equipment is required. The series is available in both threaded and bayonet-coupling configurations and is offered in either passivated stainless steel or fused-tin–coated stainless steel shells. A glass-to-metal seal is fused directly into the shell, supporting a verified leak rate of 1 × 10⁻⁷ cc/sec helium in accordance with the MIL-DTL-26500 specification.
The connector line supports 2 to 61 circuits across a range of MIL-STD-1554 insert arrangements. Fluorosilicone interfacial and peripheral seals provide compatible mating with the corresponding plug connectors. Nickel-iron Alloy 52 contacts, available in sizes 12, 16, and 20 depending on the insert selection, offer stable performance across temperature and vibration environments. Standard rear termination options include solder cup and eyelet styles, with additional variants available for thermocouple circuits, flex-print terminations, and similar application-specific needs.
