C, L-C, C-L, and Pi Filter Configurations with and without Integrated TVS Devices—MIL-DTL-38999 and other Mil-Standard and Glenair Signature Series
Series 240 EMI/RFI Filter Connectors
EMI/RFI filter connectors are designed to suppress conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI), radio-frequency interference (RFI), and high-rate field (HRF) noise that can degrade signal integrity or disrupt sensitive electronic systems. These connectors incorporate internal passive filtering circuitry—typically capacitors arranged in C, L-C, C-L, or Pi network configurations—to attenuate unwanted high-frequency energy directly at the connector interface. Planar multilayer ceramic capacitor arrays are integrated into D38999 Series I, II, III, and IV filter devices for drop-in filtering of mission-critical avionic systems.
For enhanced protection against high-energy transient events, Glenair EMI/EMP filter connectors may also be equipped with transient voltage suppression (TVS) diodes. TVS devices clamp voltage spikes caused by lightning strikes, electrostatic discharge (ESD), or electromagnetic pulse (EMP) events before damaging downstream electronics, making them ideal for military, aerospace, and other rugged mission-critical applications. EMP solutions are likewise packaged in D38999 configurations, as well as other military standard shell styles.
Glenair manufactures a comprehensive range of EMI/RFI filter connectors for EMI/EMP management in harsh-environment interconnect systems, including military aerospace platforms. Filter connectors—typically supplied as receptacles—are designed to meet applicable connector performance specifications and mate with standard plugs of the same insert arrangement and opposite contact gender. Planar multilayer ceramic capacitor arrays and TVS diodes may be integrated into both standard catalog products and build-to-order designs.
To ensure long-term field reliability, Glenair employs a state-of-the-art diode burn-in and screening process, testing both leaded and surface-mount TVS devices with continuous leakage-current monitoring throughout the entire qualification cycle.
Glenair is the only manufacturer offering both standard catalog and build-to-spec EMI/RFI filter connector solutions across the full range of currently specified military aerospace circular and rectangular connector standards, including MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-83513, MIL-DTL-24308, ARINC 600, and more. Our 100% vertically integrated manufacturing facility supports every aspect of filter connector production, including in-house fabrication of multilayer ceramic planar capacitor arrays. This vertical integration enables industry-leading turnaround times for both custom and catalog EMI/EMP filter connector solutions. Products with same-day stocking inventory are identified with a “SAME-DAY” badge on these pages.
