MIL-DTL-24308
D-Sub EMI backshells are used to ground cable shields for electromagnetic compatibility, and to provide strain relief and mechanical protection of wire-to-connector terminations. These backshells are made out of aluminum alloy or composite thermoplastic. Electroless nickel is the most widely used finish. These backshells are compatible with industry-standard metal shell M24308 type connectors.
