PowerPlay is a high-power, single-pole and multipole connector series — with four different circular and rectangular packaging options: SuperNine Series III triple-start, SuperNine Series I bayonet, Series 806 micro-miniature, and Micro-Crimp precision rectangular. The connector series combines Glenair signature raised tower insert architecture, Crown Ring contacts, and TurboFlex cable compatibility into the interconnect industry's most innovative power solution. PowerPlay's high-conductivity Crown Ring contact and dielectric insert technology delivers 5,000 VAC dielectric withstanding voltage. Raised safe-touch socket tower and available safe-touch pin meets industry protection requirements for high power distribution applications.

Series 806 Mil-Aero High-Density PowerPlay

Series 806 Mil-Aero is the Glenair micro miniature circular series offering significant size and weight savings while meeting key performance benchmarks for a broad range of applications such as commercial and military aerospace, industrial robotics, and transportation systems. Designed for general use in harsh vibration, shock, and environmental settings—as well as high-altitude, unpressurized aircraft zones with aggressive voltage ratings and altitude immersion standards—the Series 806 Mil-Aero features numerous mechanical design innovations including durable mechanical insert retention, radial seals and triple-ripple grommet seals. Its reduced thread pitch and re-engineered ratchet prevent decoupling problems, particularly in small shell sizes, solving one of the major problems of shell size 9 and 11 MIL-DTL-38999 Series III connectors. PowerPlay versions of the Series 806 leverage all of these performance and design advantages, combined with support for PowerPlay contacts, safe-touch inserts, and TurboFlex cable.

Series 971 Micro-Crimp PowerPlay Rectangular Connectors

High-Power Rectangular Connector for Propulsion Applications

The Series 971 Micro-Crimp PowerPlay is a signature Glenair rectangular power connector, purpose-designed for electrical and hybrid electrical aircraft propulsion applications. The series is equipped with a unique raised tower architecture for improved creep path electrical performance. Series 971 is equipped with the Glenair high-temperature and high-shock resistant Crown Ring power contact and is fully compatible with ultra high flexibility TurboFlex cable. Supplied in nine high-density power insert arrangements with #8, #4, #2, and #1/0 contacts. Interlock last-mate / first-break arrangements with conventional #20 contacts are also supported. Raised socket towers and safe-touch pin contacts ensure operator safety. Connector shells and bodies are precision-machined from aluminum or stainless steel material and are fully shrouded for electromagnetic compatibility. Full environmental sealing ensures life-of-system reliability in even the harshest high-altitude environments.

TurboFlex High-Current, High-Power Cables

TurboFlex is an ultra flexible and rugged power cable solution ideal for high-power electrical distribution and propulsion applications such as battery-plant-to-inverter-to-electric-motor cables for eVTOL aircraft. Constructed from rope-lay configuration copper or aluminum wire and jacketed with Glenair signature Duralectric insulation, TurboFlex cables are optimized for use in an ecosystem of Glenair signature contact and connector technologies. Turnkey connectorized or lugged cable assemblies — fully tested and ready for immediate use — provide reliable high-temperature tolerant performance up to 4500 VAC.
